Bed Rest

Today is my first day of bed rest. Due to high blood pressure and too much protein in my urine I am at risk for Preclampsia.  Fun stuff I tell you.  I have a doctors appointment on Friday to discuss what the plans for me are.  Right now I'm 35 weeks and Dr. Tessmer-Tuck would like me to make it until 37 weeks before inducing me.  We will see how it goes.  Hopefully I will be able to delivery the way I would like to, but we will go with what is best for the baby and I.  Last night Paul said that the baby looked lower. The little man better stay in there for a little bit longer I'm not sure if I want him out just yet.  Once he's out, he's out then I'm actually going to be a Mama with responsiblities!  That's alot to take in.  Well thank goodness for big families!  I'll have plenty of help!

34 weeks

If been retaining lots of fluid!  You should see the size of these ankles.  It's amazing what a baby can do to a person's body.  With the water retension my blood pressure has been getting higher which makes me nervous.  I've had low blood pressure up until two weeks ago.  My next doctors appointment is on Friday and we will see what she says.  The last appointment she was thinking that they were going to take me early.  Which would be great unless it is during the time Grandma is in Michigan.  I know she will disappointed if she's not there for the birth.  I just might have to call Aunt Carol if it is during that time.  Of course I had to give Mom a little grief for going to babysit in Michigan right before the baby's due.  She will be gone from March 2nd to the 11th.  So I told her if they plan on inducing me I want to be induced on the 3rd which is Dad's birthday.  Of course she said that would be mean.  But hey I have no choice on when this little man wants to make his appearance.

I am getting very excited and nervous.  Some of my girlfriends have already had there babies and two are just around the corner.  I just want to see them all so much friends and babies.  I just want to hold my baby!  God has blessed Paul and I so much I guess I can hold out a few more weeks.

Happy New Year!

10 weeks left until we see our baby boy!  I didn't stay up for the ball drop this year.  The first time in a long time.  The baby has been taking the better part of my energy these days.  Due to extreme thrist I did wake up around 12:30am and hung out with the boys for a little while.  Only if I could drink an energy drink and stay up until 6am playing video games.

The baby is on the move.  I'm starting to see the kicks and jabs in the sides of my big baby belly.  My sister in law, Miriam just sent me some great maternity tops.  I'm hoping to make through the rest of the pregnancy without having to spend much on maternity clothes.  I can still see my toes, but bending over to give myself a pedicure is a challenge.  I'm thinking closer to my due date I maybe making a trip to the spa to get a good pedicure.  I have to have pretty toes for my baby!

The goal for this week is to start organizing the babies room and closet!  I must say I've done a very good job on not buying things for the little one.  But between Grandma's and Christmas present we already have a good start on clothes.  I can wait to dress him up!  The crib is all set up we are just waiting on Grandmas for the sheets.  We ordered a glider from Babies R Us and it will come in the next couple of weeks.  I'm so excited to see everything come together.

Now for the name..... hopefully we will decide by the time we see his handsome face!

Baby Kicks!

I've felt the baby kick for some time now.  First I wasn't quite sure on what I was feeling.  Then they became stronger.  It is a totally amazing feeling.  Now I know why women love being pregnant.  Prior to the kicks I had no idea other than the miracle you receive at the end.  The last week or two the kicks have became very stronger and I have been so happy.  But today was another mile marker for me.  Paul felt the baby kick for the first time!!!!  This morning before we got up and got ready for church the baby was moving around.  Paul had wrapped his arm around my belly.  I told him the baby was moving.  He placed his hand where the baby was and he finally felt him!! It brought so much joy to my heart having him being able to feel our little miracle move.  There was joy, laughter, kisses, and some tears on my part.  Definitely my happiest day of pregnancy so far.

Sneaky Peak at the Nursery

With the help of Grandma Mary we are going to have a John Deere themed room for the little one.  Grandma Mary is doing what she does best and is sewing together all the crib bedding for the little man.  Meanwhile we all going to look for all sort of JD memorobilia.  It definetly will be a room the boy can grow into.  We have got lots to do before he graces us with his presence, but it's a good start : )

22 weeks and Moody

I'm 22 weeks now and going through those "so called" mood swings (mainly just before bed).  I sure hope I can get them under control or my nickname will become Grumpy.  On a brighter note, our baby boy has been kicking me.  I've been trying to get Paul to be able to feel the kicks but every time the baby stops (We might have a little stinker on our hands).  Baby seems to be pretty low and by where he's kicking me I think he is breech.  He was at 19 weeks at the ultrasound but our little guy can move so much before March, I'm not worried about it.  I joined the gym last week, so I can attempt to keep in shape while being pregnant.  Gaining this weight is all apart of pregnant and totally worth, but it still doesn't mean it's not a little scary.  Nice thing about the gym there is about 5 or so other pregnant women there.  Maybe I'll get the chance to have some girlfriends that live a little closer to me, so we can chat and our babies can play! Oh that would be just wonderful.
